I am a geek, a conservative but, most importantly a Christian. I have seen the blessings that flow when we openly accept God’s plan for our lives by embracing His Word. Regardless of what critics may say, I believe that embracing the Biblical wisdom of personal responsibility, living within your means, holding each other accountable and taking care of your neighbor should be placed at the core of every decision we make as a nation.
Being a Christian in our new secular millenium becomes increasingly more difficult by the day. I openly praise and encourage leaders who openly embrace the conservative, Biblical principles on which our republic was founded.
More About The Author
Our heroes are an important part of who we are. We should embrace them, emulate them and become heroes ourselves. A few exceptions aside, Hollywood is anything but conservative, and it’s certainly not Christian. Even still, I believe that we can learn a great deal from the the successes and the failures that our heroes endure as we watch them vanquish evil and save the world. Closely tied to fictional heroes are the actual heroes from our past, our childhood and our present that shape who we are. Here is a brief list of some of my more notable earthly heroes.
- George Washington
- Ronald Reagan
- David Platt
- Scott Walker
- Paul Ryan
- Glenn Beck
- Dr. Sam Beckett
- Bruce Wayne
- Roy Hobbs
- Jean Luc Picard
- Peter Parker
If you are a conservative Christian that can relate to the heroes listed above, enjoy the movies and televisions shows I recommend and if you are the kind of person that gets chills when you watch an inspiring movie and actually does something positive with those chills, you will really digg this blog.
Why Name The Blog “Go In Victory?”
Plans To Prosper You, Not To Harm You - Jeremiah 29:11I endured some darks days a few years ago when nearly all of my surroundings began to crumble in the aftermath
of what felt like a hand grenade going off in the middle of my life. My relationships, my livelihood and the plans I had
made for my life began quickly dissolve in front of me. Though I had never completely lost my faith in God, I did begin
to forget it. By His grace, God chose to remind me of His sovereignty and His love through a series of blessings;
the most notable of which were the daily phone calls I received from a dear friend of mine, Luanne. For weeks,
she’d call me each morning to help me start my day, check in on me and finish every call with the charge
“Go In Victory!” Those three words gave me the daily encouragement and strength I needed to take the necessary steps towards the blessings that God had planned for me. God took that opportunity to teach me a very important lesson: that faith, hope, love and victory are a daily choice, a decision we make about the person He would have us be despite what earthly obstacles may tower over us. No matter how dark or desperate your circumstances may seem, I encourage you to
make the daily choice to go in victory.
